ANTI-CRIME MOVEMENT LAUNCHED IN MANILA CITY

Anti-crime movement,dubbed "kilusan Laban-Krimen,isulong mamamayan"(KLIM), was launched by Manila officials in a move to intensify the city's campaign against criminals.

City councilor Humbrto Basco,one of the organizers,said the movement was set up in the face of an upsurge of criminal cases in the city such as kidnapping.

Basco added city official hope to support the crime victims and to encourage the public to be vigilant against grapt and curruption committed by Government officials.

Retired police colonel Zosimo Balagtas was tapped chairman of the movement with secretary to the Mayor Rafaelito Garayblas acting as deputy chairman.

Councilor Joey Silva was named Secretary General along with city treasurer lawyer Antonio Acevedo.
